RUSSIAN LANGUAGE PROGRAMS

Russian Language Programs

Pre-university training of foreign students for entering the university to study under all programs and fields offered by PNU has been realized for over 20 years. Highly qualified teachers help students to learn Russian and prepare for the university entrance efficiently and in the shortest time. In addition, the university realizes short-term programs to study the Russian language or improve its knowledge.

Pre-university Training Programs

The university offers a preparatory course of the Russian language and the major subjects to international students who are going to obtain the university education and a PNU diploma. After the training under the chosen program a foreign student will receive a PNU Certificate.
Preparation for study in the first year in humanities, natural sciences, engineering and economics.
Preparation for study at Master’s degree and postgraduate courses in humanities.
Preparation for study at Master’s degree and postgraduate courses in natural sciences, engineering and economics.

Russian Language Programs

The university offers the Russian language programs throughout the year, including winter and summer holidays to international students, including students of various majors, faculty members, businessmen, and everyone, regardless of age and occupation. After the training under the chosen program a foreign student will receive a PNU Certificate.

Program “Russian Language for Everyone”
Goal: improving Russian oral and written speech proficiency.
1. For beginners.
2. For intermediate learners.
3. For advanced learners.

Program “Russian Language for Students-Philologists Studying the Russian Language”
Goal: study the theory of language; introducing basic methods of language learning; improving Russian oral and written speech proficiency.

Program “Russian Language for Students-Philologists Studying the Russian Literature”
Goal: study the Russian literature; introducing basic methods of analysis and interpretation of a literary text; improving Russian oral and written speech proficiency.

Program “Russian Language for Management Personnel and Specialists of Other Majors”
Goal: study specialty terminology; improving Russian scientific (oral and written) speech proficiency on the material of specialty language.

Program “Russian Language for Businessmen”
Goal: study the basics of Russian office work; improving Russian formal-business (oral and written) speech proficiency.

Program for Teachers of Russian as a Foreign Language
Goal: study the contemporary methodology of teaching foreign languages; improving the skills of teaching Russian as a foreign language.

Program to Prepare for the Test of Russian as a Foreign Language (TORFL)
Goal: preparation for the test under the Russian State System of Testing Foreigners in the Russian Language (TORFL-1, TORFL-2, TORFL-3)

- preparation for the Grammar Test – 4 hours/week
- preparation for the Reading Test – 2 hours/week
- preparation for the Listening Test – 2 hours/week
- preparation for the Writing Test – 6 hours/week
- preparation for the Speaking Test – 6 hours/week
