PATERNALISM AND FREEDOM OF THE PERSON
The article considers the philosophical problem of freedom in the context of paternalistic care. It is noted that "paternal" care sometimes makes satisfaction of person needs easier, but it also subjects him to another man’s will. It is shown that ambivalence of paternalistic care cause the following paradox: although paternalism can be a barrier to implementation choice, it can also be a reason for appearance of the person`s freedom.
Keywords: paternalism, society, state, freedom of the person.
