MODELING OF STRAIN GAUGE OPERATION IN REINFORCED CONCRETE
The interpretation technique of strain gauge records used in monitoring stressed deformed state of reinforced concrete constructions (pillars) of high buildings is developed. The technique consists in reduction of gauge data to forces in concrete and reinforcement. It is found that the gauge destruction is a criterion for a critical condition of construction components and plastic strains within gauge indicate a pre-emergency state, accompanied by longitudinal crack development across reinforcement and the difference between the gauge records and the data predicted by a theoretical model.
Keywords: strain gauge, monitoring, reinforced concrete
