The Bilingualism in Daghestan (a Culturological Aspect)
The multiple-aspect problem of the bilingualism is considered from a position of intercultural communications. In Daghestan the Russian language has become a bearer to the Russian culture and through it to the European culture. In multinational Daghestan the bilingualism has created an environment in which national languages have been developed and enriched. Use of national language as a “secret” one that was typical at the turn of the XX-XXI centuries says about losing the main communicative function of native languages in the multilingual Daghestan society. The Russian language serves as a language of interethnic communication and is a factor of consolidation of all Daghestan people.
