Assessment of the Noise Effects on the Phase Method Employed for the Detection of the Arrival Moment of Acoustic Pulses
The effect of noise on the accuracy of the phase method employed for detecting the arriving moment of acoustic pulses (acoustic pulse recording by using signal intersection through the zero level of the first half-wave) is considered. By using probabilistic simulation the probability density of measurement errors is found, and the relationship between the signal-to-noise ratio and the systematic error is established.
