MODELING OF ANNUAL RINGS IN VOLUME AND AT THE CUT OF ROUND WOODS
The paper reflects a new approach to the technology of round wood preparation in a sliced veneer production. It is known that type of the sliced veneer mostly depends on the accepted method of ripping cut of round wood (blocks). The paper provides a method of modeling its internal mono-structure and annual rings in particular. The mathematical model developed makes it possible to implement virtual ripping cut of a block to any angle to its longitudinal axis and to reflect the texture of wood in the cutting plane. It allows predicting the veneer type and its texture.
