About Some Problems of Monetary and Credit Policy
The article analyses increase of inflation rates in Russia, and the role of the Central Bank of Russia in the process of their control. There are considered such in-struments for inflation control and slowdown of growth of the monetary supply as: the rate of refinancing, operations of direct sales and repurchasing agreement, intraday credits, currency SWAP transactions, etc. The Bank of Russia, following the example of the developed countries (the Great Britain, New Zealand), has defined the goal of the monetary and credit policy as inflation targeting, but introduction of this mode requires a lot of conditions; this fact complicates its development now. The international financial crisis will raise new questions in "struggle" against inflation.
